Andrew Burley
March 6, 1985 - May 17, 2002

On May 17, 2002, Leary School, Prince George's County, lost one of its own students to an act of senseless violence. Andrew Burley was a kind and caring person who was liked and respected by both staff and students.

Following his death, a bulletin board in the main hallway at the school was dedicated to Andrew's memory and, during the remainder of the school year, both staff and students posted their own thoughts, poems, and prayers.

A memorial service led by Pastor Horton of the New Fellowship Baptist Church, which shares our building, was held at the school on June 4th. During this service, several staff and students shared their own memories of Andrew. Andrew will be greatly missed by all.
