Job Site: Holyoke Drive (project #6)


At the beginning of the 1997-98 school year, the Foundation purchased three adjoining lots within a mile of the Alexandria, Virginia campus to give the job site students and staff a sense of permanency for the next few years as they build these three new homes.

This newest neighborhood is located in an older neighborhood and so a change in the design was made to accommodate the look of the neighborhood.

The first of these houses completed is a three bedroom, one and a half bath home with a full basement, a large kitchen, and a step-down area between the kitchen and the stairs to the basement where the laundry facilities are. A second door to the outside is also in this area, allowing for "muddy shoes" away from the living area.
