Site: Holyoke Drive (project #11)
November 2009
The current house, located at 6449 Holyoke Drive, will be similar to the house next
door that was finished last spring (Holyoke project #10). There are a few design
modifications. The sun room that was adjacent to the master bedroom in the last house
has been eliminated; this made the master bedroom larger. On the main floor, the
kitchen has been enlarged and the study has been removed to make for a larger "great
room". There will be a double decker ("stacked") porch on this house – something
that was part of a previous construction project down the street. There will be a
side entrance on the first floor of this house which goes into the laundry room and
a concrete pad on the back for a patio instead of a deck. On the second floor of
this home, like the last one, there will be three bedrooms, with two full bathrooms;
there will be a half bath on the first floor. As in the last house, there will be
a "rough in" for a full bathroom in the basement so that, in the future, the owner
can elect to put in a bathroom in the basement. Two very nice and exciting changes
include the Westwood College architectural class designing the kitchen and expert
design help from Ms. Debi Pyne, an area home designer of some notoriety.
