Occupational Therapy
When included on a student's individual education plan, evaluation and individual treatment is available at both campuses to address deficits in motor control and in sensory processing. Licensed occupational therapists assist the student in developing sensory discrimination, ocular control, hand strength and dexterity, postural control, and age appropriate fine and gross motor skills. Visual-motor integration, including pencil control for drawing and writing tasks, is an area of special emphasis. Neurodevelopmental and sensory integration theoretical frameworks are the basis for therapeutic activities. |
