Approvals and Memberships
The Foundation operates educational programs and jobsite programs only upon approval of area and state educational agencies and other governmental and licensing bodies. Its staff, regardless of jurisdiction, all undergo criminal background checks, drug screening and are certified and/or licensed in the area in which each may provide services to students.
Leary School of Virginia maintains the following approvals and memberships:
- Approved to operate by the Virginia Department of Education
- Approved to offer Individualized Student Alternative Educational Program (ISAEP) by Virginia Department of Education
- Eligible to participate in the Maryland State Department of Education: Nonpublic Tuition Assistance Program
- Certificate of Approval by the District of Columbia State Agency
- District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent
- Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities (VAISEF)
- District of Columbia Association for Special Education (DCASE, Member)
- National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children (NAPSEC)
- Washington Council of Agencies (WCA)
